In 1973 an exuberant Fitter/Turner by the name of Bevan Sands went into business for himself setting out to provide quality fabrication to the construction industry. United Engineering Services Ltd grew rapidly and soon had the reputation of being Auckland's premier heavy engineering manufacturer. A few years later the subsidary companies, Steelgal and United Pumping Services, were formed to strengthen the name of the United Group.

In 1999 Bevan Sands left New Zealand shores to establish Chiasso Coffee Australia, and Arron Sands  took the helm from his father. It is the purpose of Arron Sands to ensure the business moves with the times while it continues to retain the attributes on which his father built the company reputation- Integrity, Honesty, Value and Professionalism.

United Engineering Services Ltd is a proud member of the steel community and contributes in an industry that does more than supply to New Zealand it builds New Zealand.
